Racquel and Will Smith got married in 2008 at the Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans. In the same year, will Smith signed a seven-year, $63 million contract extension. In 2010, Will was arrested and charged with domestic battery for allegedly grabbing Racquel by her hair in a club at Lafayette. On the next day, Racquel said on Twitter, that it was all a misunderstanding.
Will was not charged. In April 2016, Will was shot to death and Racquel was shot in the leg in a road rage incident. Cardell Hayes (“Bear”) was convicted of manslaughter for the shooting and was sentenced for Twenty Five years in prison. Racquel Smith has three children. Will Smith Road Incident and Death
On April 9, 2016, Smith was associated with a car accident where a Hummer, driven by 28-year-old Cardell Hayes, was back finished by Smith’s Mercedes SUV in a continuous conflict that supposedly began with Smith’s vehicle back finishing the Hummer. The last impact made Haye’s vehicle slam into the vehicle before him and was adequately hard to break the back window in the Mercedes.
Minutes sooner and under two traffic lights away, in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans, Smith’s vehicle had been hit by Hayes’ vehicle. Smith’s vehicle contained Smith, his better half Racquel, and two anonymous travelers. In the subsequent impact, Smith and Hayes traded words, when Hayes shot a handgun, killing Smith and harming his significant other. Hayes was captured at the scene.
During the examination, a completely stacked 9-millimeter handgun was found in Smith’s vehicle. Hayes and a traveler in his vehicle guaranteed self-preservation. After an examination, the New Orleans Police Department accused Hayes of second-degree murder.
