Star of Emmerdale Michelle Hardwick has revealed that she and her wife Kate Brooks are expecting a girl. In an interview on Loose Women with Brooks, a producer for the serial, they talked about their route to parenthood and the actor revealed the joyful news.
A delighted Hardwick informed the panel, who were quick to congratulate the couple on the news, "So baby number two is... a little girl!"
Hardwick, who portrays Vanessa Woodfield in the ITV serial, continued by saying that despite experiencing a good amount of morning sickness, her second pregnancy has "flown by."
The couple have been married for three years after eloping at Elvis' famous Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee. They already share a son named Teddy together.
In addition, Hardwick confirmed that the child shares a biological father with the donor, who is willing to meet with the children once they become 18 if they want to get to know him.
The pair previously opened up to OK! about their IVF journey, saying they were "fortunate" to conceive their son for the first child on the first try. "The first time, it worked, and Teddy was ours. We simply couldn't believe it, and we are aware of our good fortune "said the star.
Hardwick announced they were expecting a second child together earlier this year. She shared an image of their son looking excited under a message which read: "COMING THIS WINTER... Baby Brooks #2."
